Staying At Bambu River Guest House

 

Accommodation comprises of 11 bungalows all with modern bathroom (shower and western toilet), sitting terrace, views over the river and onto the forest, double and single beds, bed linen, towels mosquito nets and pleasant airy rooms. New bungalows, just completed, are designated as family rooms with King size bed, and two singles, along with a huge terrace overlooking magnificent mountain forest and rivers, Sungai Buluh(Bamboo river) and Sungai Batang Serangan.

We ask that you do not use candles in rooms due to the fire risk. Lamps are provided in case of power out- but again- make sure you have a torch!

 

All rooms/restaurant  have electricity(very recent addition), but thanks to the local electricity company it can be sporadic -bring a torch; be patient if it goes off- especially at cooking times- it is our worst nightmare!

 

The cost : From 250 .000 Indonesian Rupiah per room(based on occupancy of two/ three people, an extra charge is made for the use of  4th single bed  to be placed in rooms. Includes breakfast for 2.

The Restaurant at Bambu River Guest house has great food- Wak youn, local owner,is a great cook and  everyone raves about his food.  The restaurant has comfortable chairs, is light and airy and with stunning views over the river and forest. Here you will experience real indonesian cuisine all made with fresh  local ingredients.

 

Jungle food is a great meal to try and introcduces you to a variety of Indonesian traditional dishes. Make your tastes for levels of spicy -ness,vegaetarinaism etc  known!

If you have special rquests let the staff know- shopping is not easy and involves hours of driving so some pre warning for special meals etc are welcomed. . BBQ fish and chicken is another excellent choice but requires notice. Western dishes are also available.

 

* The restaurant is halal (we dont serve pork  essentially) and do not  allow pork to be cooked on the premises).

Meals vary in price from 25,000 for breakfast, noodle type simple dishe ask in the guest house for the price of   a full indonsian jungle food experience.

 

Boiled and bottled water is available-,but please try and refill to keep the plastic down,as well as beer, soft drinks and so on.
